Occupational lenses are designed for those with near vision correction, who use digital devices or have near or intermediate activities, to help relax their eyes and posture in front of screens.

On single vision lenses we offer anti reflective coatings to help reduce artificial reflections from screens, devices, and fluorescent lighting. Our team will discuss the different lens coatings and the different benefits of each.
- Crizal Prevencia: A blue filter coating with an antifatigue element.
- Crizal Sapphire: Our most effective anti-reflective coating with UV protection.
- We also offer a range of other antireflective coatings including Crizal Easy & Crizal Drive.
Essilor Eyezen lenses are a new generation of spectacle lenses to help reduce eyestrain while protecting vision health. Please ask our team for more information on the best Eyezen lens design to suit your prescription and needs.

Varifocal lenses
We stock a wide range of varifocal lenses. We specialise in Essilor lenses. Our team will always guide you in choosing the best varifocal for your needs and prescription.
We offer the latest design of varifocal lenses including the Varilux XR which offers the widest field of vision throughout. Designed using the latest technologies on the market for achieving the best optical performance for the wearer.
We also offer a range of other Varilux lenses including the Varilux Physio, Varilux Comfort Max and Varilux Liberty.
Childrens Myopia Control
Myopia control lenses help to correct and control Myopia (shortsightedness) in children. Myopia can progressively get worse in children as they grow affecting their future vision and eye health.
Here in Donal MacNally Opticians, we fit children with a myopia control lens from Essilor called Stellest. Stellest lenses offer the best solution for correcting and controlling myopia in children with strong clinical proof. Our team of Optometrist will always discuss the benefits and costs associated with Myopia control spectacle lenses.
Transition Lenses:
Traditionally known as photochromatic lenses transition lenses is an additional filter applied to your lenses which reacts to changing light outdoors and return to clear indoors. Transition lenses react to the level of UV the lenses are exposed to offering different depths of protection.
Also available in XtrActive which react slightly indoors to very harsh brightly lit environments and can reach up to category 2 darkness within a car.
Available in a range of colours and can include antireflective coatings for additional benefits.
