Should you have any sudden or unexpected eye issues please don’t hesitate to call us for advice.
Red/Sore eye:
The Optometrist will be able to identify the cause of the red eye on examination under the slit lamp. They will advise on the best course of action. This can be any of the following: self-monitoring, possibly using recommended eye drops, referral to GP for infection treatment or referral into the eye emergency department.
Floater & Flashes:
If you experience a sudden increase in your floaters alongside bright white flashes of light it is best to have your eyes examined to rule out a retinal detachment. During this examination the Optometrist will dilate the pupil to gain a full view of the retina. With these symptoms a referral to the eye emergency department may be required as a precaution or for emergency treatment.
It is important to note that we are not an emergency service however we will always try to accommodate you as quick as we can.
